Say You Will - Fleetwood Mac - Song of the Week #23

Say You Will

This is a track off the Say You Will album released in 2003 by the band minus Christie McVie. It was the first album to be released by the band in 17 years, and was the first album to be released in 34 years without a song written by Christie McVie. Although she lends her vocals to two tracks, they were originally recorded for a Lindsey Buckingham solo album that was never released. It peaked on the billboard charts at #3 and was certified Gold in both the US and the UK.

I find this song to be overwhelmingly uplifting, and lighthearted, while lyrically expressing raw emotion. Hum.... seems like a Fleetwood Mac theme! Written by Stevie Nicks, she also lends her sultry vocals to this track for our listening pleasure. Overall I just really like the song...the lyrics, story, instrumentation, feel, form, vocals, message, etc. It's a song about calling out for one more chance, which, let's face it, we could all use at one time or another in life, and more over it touches on the unspeakable feeling's that we humans are so lucky to be able to experience every now and again.

If you've been lucky enough to genuinely feel "that kind of touch, electricity of love, that certain kind of grace", then be smart enough to keep it around because that's what makes life worth living!

Live!

Happy Listening!
