Love Child - Diana Ross - Song of the Week #15

Love Child

This is an early song written from the point of view of a "Love Child", and the feelings that were experienced through life carrying around that kind of a label. Now-a-days this type of situation is hopefully dealt with differently, although I'm sure there are people out there that can relate. It's certainly an interesting topic to base an entire song on, and does a great job of helping us understand what kind of ridicule someone would have gone through on a daily basis. It also describes how those insecurities transfer into adulthood, and relationships. In the end, no position that anyone is born into exempts them from love. The song concludes with this simple message...
Always love yourself. NO MATTER WHAT!

It has a moving, classic Motown feel, with a ton of background vocal interjections that are perfectly placed to compliment the lead vocal.  You'll be tapping your feet in time while listening intently to the lyrics.

Can you here the "Love Child" sample in this Janet Jackson Song?

Happy Listening!
